about Wholesome Scraps
Hi there! Welcome to Wholesome Scraps, a blog created by Ashleigh Rosa Ninos. My husband Johnny and I both teach in the visual arts at a small private high school in California’s Santa Barbara County. In our free time we make our own work on the side.
Johnny, a self-taught jewelry maker, uses recycled metals, conflict-free diamonds, and found beach stones as his primary materials. His work is currently on display and sold at Love & Luxe in San Francisco and Gallery Lulo in Healdsburg, CA.

I make paintings using dyes on paper. Originally from the East Coast and currently living in sunny California, we both long for anything that even remotely resembles weather. My work, a series called ‘Forecast’, is an ode to that yearning:

This blog acts as a trace to of our collective inspiration ranging anywhere from visual art to interiors, food to design. Wholesome Scraps is also where I post shop updates and fresh work from our studios.
